Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of besewbizzy.com and any purchases or class registrations made through the site or in person at Be Sew Bizzy, 4446 Cerritos Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. By using this site, you agree to these terms.

All Sales Are Final

We do not accept returns or exchanges, except where the law requires it or where we made the mistake — a wrong item, a missing item, or a product that arrives defective. If that happens, please contact us and we will make it right. If you have a question about an item before purchasing, reach out — we are happy to help.

Orders and Payment

All prices are in U.S. dollars. Payment is processed securely through Square. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

Order errors caused by technical issues or misconfigurations with the website will result in cancellation of the order. If you still want the order after it is cancelled, please contact us to discuss how we may be able to help.

California sales tax applies to taxable products based on the destination ZIP code. Shipping charges are not taxable.

Pricing Errors and Charge Timing

We work hard to keep prices accurate, but a one-person shop occasionally makes a typo. If an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full. We will let you know why, and you are welcome to reorder at the correct price.

Your card is charged in full at checkout for everything in your order, including pre-order items that have not yet arrived.

Shipping

We attempt to ship all orders of in-stock items within one week from the date of the order. Some items may go out of stock — we replenish them as soon as possible. Items on our website are either in stock or available to us from our distributors.

Be Sew Bizzy is not responsible for shipping delays, whether for items that need to be ordered from our vendors or for delays in transit to customers.

Standard shipping is a flat $8.00 per order. Large or bulky items may incur additional shipping fees — we will contact you if this is the case. Free in-store pickup is available at 4446 Cerritos Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.

Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the package. If a package arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days and keep the box and packing materials — the carrier may need to see them for a claim.

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. If a package goes astray because of an address error entered by the customer, reshipping is at your cost. Packages returned to us as undeliverable will be reshipped at cost, or refunded less the original shipping charge — your choice.

Be Sew Bizzy is a one-person shop. If you need something in a hurry, please contact us to see what we can do. Thank you for your patience.

Pre-Orders

Pre-order items are charged in full at checkout. All orders containing pre-order items will be held until all items are released by the vendors and received by Be Sew Bizzy. If you need available items sooner, please contact us to arrange a separate shipment — additional shipping costs will apply.

Fabric Kits

Some fabric kits are cut in-store when your order is placed. Please allow up to 4weeks for cutting and shipping. Need yours sooner? Contact us to check whether it’s already been cut.

Gift Cards

  • Be Sew Bizzy gift cards never expire and carry no fees of any kind, in keeping with California Civil Code section 1749.5
  • Gift cards can be redeemed online at besewbizzy.com or in person at the shop
  • Gift cards are not redeemable for cash, except that a remaining balance under $10 will be paid out in cash on request, as California law provides
  • Please treat your gift card like cash — a lost or stolen card cannot be replaced unless we are able to verify the original purchase

Digital Downloads

When you buy a digital embroidery design, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to use that design yourself. You may stitch it out as many times as you like for your own projects and for gifts. You may not share, resell, redistribute, or upload the design files, in whole or in part, to anyone else.

Your purchased files stay available for re-download from your account, so there is no need to keep a backup — though it never hurts. Because a digital file cannot be returned, all sales of digital goods are final once the download has been delivered.

Redemption Codes

Some products — Kimberbell designs, for example — are delivered as a redemption code that we email to you after your purchase. Each code is single use and is redeemed on the vendor’s own website, under that vendor’s terms. Once a code has been redeemed we are unable to reissue it, so please keep it safe until you have used it. If your code does not arrive, contact us and we will track it down.

Class and Event Registration

  • Payment is required at registration to hold your spot
  • Class capacity is limited; registration is first-come, first-served
  • If a class is full, you may join the waitlist and will be notified if a spot opens
  • Event fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Be Sew Bizzy
  • If you do not attend a class you registered for, the fee is forfeited
  • You may transfer your spot to another person — just let us know before the class begins
  • We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment; registered students will receive a full refund
  • Occasionally we need to reschedule a class. If you cannot make the new date, we will refund you in full
  • Supply lists are provided in advance so you know what to bring
  • Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class
  • Shop machines are available for use during class; please treat them with care — you are responsible for damage caused by misuse

Coupons and Discounts

Coupon codes are valid only during their stated validity period and may not be combined with other offers unless explicitly noted. Pre-order discounts expire on the item’s ship date.

Product Warranties

New PFAFF and SINGER machines come with the manufacturer’s warranty, and we are here to help you with a warranty claim if you ever need one — bring the machine in or contact us and we will work with the manufacturer on your behalf. Other products carry whatever warranty their maker provides.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under California law, including the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.

Accounts and Your Content

Member accounts sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, so please keep that email account secure — anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Let us know right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

The quilts you save in the Quilt Designer, the layouts you build on the Design Wall, and your thread collections are yours. We store them so you can come back to them, and we do not claim any ownership over them.

If you leave a comment on the site, please keep it kind and lawful. Do not post anything unlawful, offensive, harassing, or infringing on someone else’s rights. We may remove content and close accounts that violate these terms.

Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including photography, text, and the Be Sew Bizzy name and logo — is owned by Be Sew Bizzy or licensed for our use. You may not reproduce or redistribute our content without written permission. Pattern and project designs sold on this site are subject to their respective publishers’ copyright terms.

Limitation of Liability

Be Sew Bizzy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this site or our products and services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the transaction giving rise to that claim.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
